Years ago, people didn't have phones. Houses had phones. You had to call a house and ask for the person you wanted to talk to. And they definitely didn't let you record and edit videos.
Create, Download, and Edit Intro Videos on Your Phone
If you want to create an intro video from scratch using IntroCave on your phone, the website
supports that! We have a big list of templates that don't require any asset uploads. If you want to use a template with a logo in it, though, you need to make sure you have that image on your phone already. I'm still thinking about ways to make the render process faster, but one annoying thing on mobile is that it's not quite as easy to just open a new tab and keep doing something else while your preview video renders. I'm thinking about building an "just email me when it's ready" feature, which would make it a bit easier to use IntroCave itself on a phone. Stay tuned!

On Android, this is pretty straightforward (but I've still walked through the process with screenshots). Apple makes it a bit of a pain, and there a ton of terrible apps that seem like they might work... but don't. I've waded through nearly a dozen of those apps to narrow it down to a few app recommendations to help solve this problem on iOS.

While I would always suggest editing on a desktop, you can do a lot with a good smartphone these days. I ran through a handful of editing apps on both platforms and came up with a few tips just in case you want to add your intro video to your YouTube video using only your mobile phone.

Mobile downloading and editing are a bit of a blind spot for me as I do all my production on PC. I'm confident that these apps can get the job done in June of 2019, but apps can change over time and newer/better options might come on to the market!

Until now, I've had to be pretty unhelpful when it comes to people asking how to download videos on their phone. My answer used to be: "There are apps that can help you, but I haven't tested them." That answer sucks. Even though it feels a bit like doing support on behalf of a couple of trillion dollar company (for free), I can now point people towards the new articles and hopefully make their lives a little bit easier.
