September Roundup: How Do You IntroCave?

Intro Maker Updates

(Lemurs are social critters. I want to start doing interviews with members of the community. It's a stretch.)

September Roundup

I WANT YOU

to tell me how you're using IntroCave.

If you sign in to your IntroCave account and visit your dashboard, you'll notice a shiny new form below your order history:

If you'd like to have your videos featured in a future blog post or email blast, fill it out! I'm hoping to interview members of the IntroCave community from time to time, and this form is the primary way I'm going to figure out who to talk to.

There are three spots to put links—don't feel like you have to fill in all three if you have one mega-amazing video that you think is your best video. It doesn't even have to be a YouTube link. Maybe you're using one of our intro videos in a business presentation somewhere or on your Twitch channel or on Vimeo. Maybe you're just getting started and haven't published anything yet!

You can use the bigger box to tell me a little more about your content. Or not! You could also put your favorite recipe in there, but I'm ever-so-slightly-more-likely to follow up with an interview request if you put something in there about your channel or how you're using your intro videos. "But wait! I haven't actually purchased a video yet. Can I still fill this thing out?" Sure! I may send out coupons in the future to folks who fill in the form, so if you missed out on the feedback form coupon while that promo was going, this is your best shot at getting a coupon some time in the future.

Server Progress

Stability was a bit better in September, with the average preview render coming in at 4:40 (a HUGE improvement over August's numbers). I was able to devote some heads down time to the new render service, and I feel like I've got a design I'm happy with. Knowing what needs to be built takes a huge mental load off, but the changes are substantial and it will likely be a few more months before I have everything production ready.

it me

IntroCave is a one-person-show operated by Will Hankinson, but it's not 100% accurate to say every word is written by me. Some articles were live on the site when I took over. I hire writers from time to time to work on specific articles. People keep asking me to do guest posts, but I haven't actually seen any relevant submissions yet. "Intro Maker staff" might make a better by-line, but currently that's just me. I've been building digital things for 10+ years now, and some of my favorite projects are posted over at my personal website if you want to take a look!
