Customize all the things! Well, some of the things you couldn't customize before.
New Customization Options
It would be a tiny bit of HYPERBOLE to say that I added 13 NEW VIDEO TEMPLATES to the site this month, but customization abounds! Of the 9 ACTUAL NEW TEMPLATES that I added this month:
- Two templates have customizable colors (although I don't claim that as 16 million variations).
- One template has a new option to choose between keeping your logo colors unaltered or going for a liquid Silver/Gold treatment.
- Two templates feature 3 font choices to help dial in the look you want.
Custom color options are nothing new (note to self: I still really need to add a text field for color purists who want an exact hex color), but the second two are more interesting. I could regale you with tales of nested data structures and the clever bit of code that passes your choices to the render server, but you can expect more weird customization options in the future that are a little more complicated than toggling 3-way switches or changing fonts. Now that I have the power, I just need to figure out some more good applications!
New Intro Video Templates (September 2020)
Fun Fact: most of the code below was written by robots! Well, that's maybe too generous. "Algorithms" is a bit more accurate. I've been painstakingly typing all this out by hand for months, but this month I decided enough was enough. New templates are structured data, after all, and computers are GREAT at spitting out structured data. I still need to write a little script to edit all the videos together, but progress is progress!
